Thamarrurr Rangers

Thamarrurr Rangers are based in Wadeye approximately 400 km South West of Darwin. We patrol over 17,900 km² of Country, approximately 200 km of coast line, representing of over 20 clan groups.  

The Rangers have been operational for approximately 10 years focused on land and sea management, and enterprise development. Rangers undertake a diverse range of activities including coastal surveillance, weed and feral animal control, cultural preservation and education, and management of the Marri-Jabin IPA.

Full-time Rangers (men and women) make up the team who carry out these management activities, working closely with both Northern Territory and federal stakeholders.
