Management Partnerships on Bush Heritage Reserves

Bush Heritage encourages and supports the participation of Traditional Owners in the management of land that Bush Heritage owns or manages through:

  • Acknowledging and promoting Indigenous people’s connection to Bush Heritage reserves and developing partnership agreements to support both access and use of Country.
  • Inviting and providing access to reserves for the undertaking of cultural values assessments, planning and protection works and the management of cultural sites and areas of significance.
  • The incorporation of Indigenous peoples aspirations into management plans and activities, and involvement in conservation management activities.
  • Supporting the development of Indigenous people’s skills in contemporary natural resource management and where possible employing Indigenous peoples services.
