Joe Morrison is currently touring the United
States. Here's a map of his travels. One of the items on
his busy schedule was a meeting hosted by the Washington
chapter of The Nature Conservancy as part of its efforts to
enhance partnerships with local people around the
world.

Donna Bush is
leaving the Carbon Team to have a baby. Christine Michael
will join the team to take over some of Donna’s work
coordinating the Carbon Project.
Susan Pedersen has joined the Carbon Project team as
Communications Officer. Initially she will focus on compiling some
tools to help workshop facilitators
deliver information about the Carbon Program to Indigenous land
managers and Carbon Project participants:

The posters, booklets and DVDs will help Indigenous land managers
understand the Carbon Program, how they can benefit from being
involved in it and how to get involved.
Wheel2wheel
This
motorbike ride from Hong Kong to Brisbane aims to raise the
profiles of and money for ten community benefit programs, one in
each of 10 countries traversed.
The W2W
group will be making a documentary about NAILSMA which includes
some on-country stories. W2W aims to contribute funds raised by the
journey to the community programs when the journey is over. Have a

Yuk Maak
The Aurukun Land Management Group has started a newsletter
to help inform local people about land management and other issues,
including what’s happening with their emission abatement
project. Yuk Maak is seen as a useful communications
tool that really helps fill some gaps in local knowledge, helps
with planning and can help answer questions that arise about all
the activity going on out bush. You can download your copy from the
