Story Report: Creating Tools for Indigenous Land and Sea Managers I-Tracker Land Patrol Application Working Group Darwin 2012

The NAILSMA I-Tracker Land Patrol Application was developed in collaboration with Indigenous ranger groups, Traditional Owners, scientists and government agencies. The I-Tracker Land Patrol Application enables rangers to collect information on a wide range of terrestrial management activities across the north of Australia.

The I-Tracker application was developed using the internationally acclaimed software CyberTracker (www.cybertracker.org). During development a rigorous consultation process ensured the application met Indigenous land management objectives and was scientifically robust. The development process included on-country trials and a working group to determined the final content.

Many individuals and organisations have contributed to the development of the I-Tracker Land Patrol Application.  NAILSMA would like to acknowledge and thank all Indigenous  rangers and ranger program coordinators, scientists, researchers, government and non-government organisations who provided valuable feedback to earlier versions of this application.
