Personal
My name is Kalem Ronberg I am a local Indigenous man born and
raised in the Territory. I come from a large extended family that
stretches up and down the Northern Territory and expands through
four different language groups in and around Alice Springs.
Professional
I had the privilege of a good education and then undertook a
Tour Guide traineeship with the Alice Springs Desert Park which I
thoroughly enjoyed. It provided the experience I needed to either
score a job at the Park itself or follow on with more study and
look at other career paths. After the Traineeship, I obtained a T1
position at the Park that provided more training and also field
trips with Park Rangers, so I continued working in Alice Springs as
a Trainee Park Ranger.
Position
I joined NAILSMA as a Project Support Officer mid 2009 when I
was involved in convening the North Australian Indigenous Experts
Water Future’s Forum which was held at Mary River in the
Northern Territory in August 2009. My role has recently broadened
into other aspects of NAILSMA’s Indigenous Water Resource
Management Program.
